Story By: CHRIS MOORE / UTICA-ROME SPEEDWAY – VERNON, NY – A ‘High Limit’ Weekend. Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson – in conjunction with FloRacing – will bring the newly revamped ‘High Limit Racing’ 410 Sprint Car Series to both Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, N.Y., and Fonda Speedway in Fonda, N.Y., Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, respectively.
Both events will feature the nation’s premier Sprint Car division – the 410s – in conjunction with the big-block/small-block Modifieds, a quick-hitting two-division, double-headline program.
The All-Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) 410 Sprint Cars visited Utica-Rome Speedway each of the last two seasons (won by Danny Varin of Fonda, N.Y., and Justin Peck of Monrovia, Ind.). The ASCoC was scheduled for a Fonda visit last May, but that event was nixed by rain.
Following the announcement earlier in the month that the High Limit Series has bought out the ASCoC, Fonda and Utica-Rome promoter Brett Deyo of BD Motorsports Media LLC secured dates for the highly sought-after national 410 Sprint Car division.
Both the Utica-Rome and Fonda events will pay a minimum of $12,000 to the winner and $1,200 to take the green flag.
A three-night swing through the Empire State will begin at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, N.Y., Thursday, May 16.
Fonda Speedway is set to host Open Practice on Saturday, April 13 with the start of racing on Saturday, April 20.
Utica-Rome Speedway will get underway on Friday, April 12 with practice and racing on Friday, April 19.
Complete 2024 schedules for both speedways are in the works and will be finalized in the coming weeks.
