Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Scholarship Applications Now Available; Deadline Is June 10th
Story By: DONNA GOBRECHT / KEVIN GOBRECHT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – HANOVER, PA – Applications are now being accepted for the 24th annual Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Scholarship.
Deadline for application is June 10th.
Over the past 24 years, more than 50 race fans, crew members and drivers have benefited their education through a Kevin Gobrecht scholarship.
Proceeds from sales of Kevin Gobrecht memorial merchandise benefit the scholarships and other charitable giving through the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Fund, a 501C3 established by the Gobrecht family upon Kevin’s death in 1999.
Kevin Gobrecht Memorial t-shirts and stickers are available at BAPS Motor Speedway all season. Besides the merchandise sales, their only fundraiser is the annual Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Golf Classic held this year at Bridges Golf Course in Abbottstown on Thursday, October 3rd.
A total of $7,000 in scholarships will be distributed this year. In addition to the $3,000 scholarship offered to race fans, an additional $3,000 scholarship is offered annually through the Conewago Valley School District in New Oxford. Additional scholarships are given thru the Hanover YMCA.
The scholarship will be presented to the winner at the Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Race at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, June 29
