Story By: BEN SHELTON / COMP CAMS SUPER DIRT SERIES – CONWAY, AR – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Model ‘thunders into the grove’ for the 2024 edition of the Bad Boy 98 weekend, which will be held on May 10 – 11 at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Ark.).
With last weekend’s lone-scheduled stop at Riverside International Speedway being nixed by wet weather, the tour now readies for a doubleheader at Mooney Starr’s 3/8-mile oval.
With five events in the books so far in 2024 for the season there’s been five different winners with the series. Bobby Pierce, Logan Martin, Clay Stuckey, Tyler Stevens, and Morgan Bagley have all visited Edelbrock Performance Victory Lane.
Two-time CCSDS Champion, Logan Martin leads the way in the latest standings as the Midwest Sheet Metal Marked Man with a 16-point advantage over Morgan Bagley. Kyle Beard, B.J. Robinson, Jon Mitchell, Clay Stuckey, Jon Kirby, Scott Crigler, Hunter Rasdon, Brandon Ball, Austin Vincent, Chance Mann, Charlie Cole, Tyler Stevens, and Tristan Chamberlain round out the Top 15 in the latest points.
Early into the 2024 Midwest Sheet Metal Rookie of the Year battle, Brandon Ball sits atop the standings with a 20-point lead over Austin Vincent.
The weekend opens on Friday, May 10 with a $5,000-to-win / $400-to-win, 30-lap program. Then on Saturday, May 11 the weekend concludes with a 68-lap finale, which posts a $12,000-to-win / $600-to-start finale.
Last year B.J. Robinson scored the opening round win in the Bad Boy 98, while Kyle Beard surged through the field from the 16th-starting spot to pick up the $12,000 finale victory.
An Open Practice Session is scheduled for Thursday, May 9th.
