Carraghan & Eroh Claim Super National Slingshot Victories At Linda’s Speedway

Story By: KASEY KREIDER / LINDA’S SPEEDWAY – JONESTOWN, PA – It was a battle of two of Slingshot racing’s best on full display Friday night at the Linda’s Speedway. And in a finish that came down to the wire, Dave Carraghan pulled out the victory by the skin of his teeth – .007 seconds to be exact – in the Super National Weekend feature for the Hoffer Paving All Star Slingshots.
Friday’s 20-lapper was a thriller that saw the lead change hands on a couple of different occasions. P. J. Bozowski paced the way through the first couple of laps, but Dylan Hoch motored his way into the top spot on lap 3. The native of Mertztown, PA held the lead through the next portion of the race while everyone jockeyed for position behind him.
Among the hard chargers was Carraghan, who started the race in 10th. The driver from Emmaus, PA pounced on Hoch on a lap 10 restart and grabbed the lead of the race. But Hoch wouldn’t let Carraghan get any breathing room, as the two combatants battled side-by-side for a few laps before Carraghan eked out an advantage.
Still, Hoch kept Carraghan firmly in his sights, and used a good run off of turn 2 to make a lunge to the inside of the No. 3 on the final lap. The two drivers leaned on each other coming to the finish line, but it was Carraghan who was just able to hold on by a razor-thin margin to claim victory.
In J&J Auto Body Junior Slingshot competition, Hailey Eroh kept up with her winning ways, as she parked the No. 57 in victory lane for the second race in a row. Eroh also picked up the win in Wednesday’s Super National Weekend opener at Action Track USA, making her two-for-two entering Saturday’s finale at Hamlin.
The Mike Co Motorsports Time Trial Series returned for the Mt. Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprints, and Billy Logeman continued his recent hot streak by picking up the win aboard Mike Rutherford’s No. 27o.
In Stolz Stove Sales Winged 600 Micro Sprint competition, Jason Swavely joined Brent Shearer as two-time feature winners on the 2024 campaign. The Fleetwood, PA native got past Bradley Brown in lapped traffic and rocketed away from the field en route to the checkered flag.
The 125 Micro Sprints made their only scheduled appearance of 2024 at the Jonestown quarter-mile, and last year’s Kevin Gobrecht Memorial winner Chris Dolan chalked up the win aboard the Harrington Motorsports No. 75.
Linda’s Speedway is back in action Friday, June 14 with a six-division night of racing. The Mt. Gretna Roller Rink 270 Micro Sprints, Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Wingless 600 Micro Sprints, and the Chargers will all be in competition. Joining them on the racing card will be the Midgets, Junior Sprints, and the second appearance of the season for the East Coast Legends.
