Column By: TOM WENNER / RPW – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Oley, PA’s Louden Reimert completed the sweep at Grandview Speedway on Saturday Night.
Louden unloaded a rocket right from the start of the night and it remained true to form all night.
It started in the practice sessions of the night, Louden was fast right from the start, ripping off a 14.517 lap in practice. In the 1st Modified heat race, Louden started P6 and just destroyed the field. Reimert would methodically pick off cars lap by lap and win by a different time zone lead.
It was safe to say he was rightfully hooked up and the odds-on favorite, come T.P. Trailers Modified 30 Lap Main Event time.
The 30 Lap Modified feature went as planned, Reimert started P6 and had the race lead by lap 3. He was on cruise control out front once again until, The track slicked over the final 10 laps of the race as Grandview Speedway veteran Doug Manmiller made a late race charge for the win. The race had only 2 cautions and ran non-stop from lap 12 to the end, Manmiller ran down the Reimert Flurer Machine and Tool 16 as they hit lapped traffic in his bid to steal the race win.
When Reimert crossed the white flag, The Manmiller 44 was at the rear bumper and made an incredible run attempt to steal the win from Reimert. Doug Manmiller in the Jason Miller owned 44 would come up a car short of the victory, as Reimert was able to hold off Manmiller’s charge out of turn 4 and stand in victory lane for the 2nd time this season. Louden Reimert is the 1st repeat Modified winner of the 2024 season at the Grandview Speedway.
Chris Gambler was scheduled to start on the pole of the 30 Lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature, he was late to hit the track thus had to forfeit his spot and tag the tail. Eric Biehn requested to drop to the rear at the start as well.
Ron Haring Jr. and Justin Grim led the 28-car field to the green flag on Saturday Night. Haring would grab the early lead with Grim, Mike Lisowski, Kyle Smith, and Louden Reimert quickly in tow.
The yellow appeared on lap 2 for Eric Biehn who slowed on the backstretch. Justin Grim would head to the pits for service as he clipped the inside yuke tire and sustained a flat tire. Chris Gambler would retire as well.
The field was restacked for a lap 3 restart. Justin Grim returned to rejoin the field. Haring would lead the restart with Lisowski, Reimert, Smith, and Doug Manmiller behind the race leader. Louden Reimert making quick work of the field by going from 6th to 3rd in 2 laps.
As the field takes the green flag Louden Reimert powers from the Flurer Machine and Tool Bicknell 16 to the race lead from his 3rd spot. Ron Haring Jr., Mike Lisowski, Doug Manmiller, and Timmy Buckwalter are chasing the 16 now.
With 5 down on the scoreboard, Louden Reimert is showing strong speed out front as Haring Jr., Manmiller now 3rd, Lisowski, Buckwalter, and Kyle Smith are the Top-5. As lap 6 is scored, Brett Kressley is on the move as he is side by side with Craig Von Dohren for 6th and 7th.
Lap 8 and the Reimert is sailing away out front, Haring Jr. maintaining 2nd and Doug Manmiller trying to run down the Alburtis Auto 85 in 2nd. Lisowski, Buckwalter, and Smith are in the current Top-5. Von Dohren, Kressley, and Watt are just outside the Top-5 with 8 down.
10 clicks off the lap counter and Reimert is at it again, pulling away from the field, Haring Jr., Manmiller, Lisowski and Buckwalter are the Top-5. Kyle Smith leads the next group with Brett Kressley, Craig Von Dohren, while Ryan Watt and Jeff Strunk are side by side for 9th and 10th.
Just as Louden Reimert is about to hit the rear of the field, the caution lights are flashing for Kevin Graver Jr. who is spun at the infield entrance on the backstretch. Darrin Schuler and Chris Gambler pulled off. Ryan Beltz returned from the infield a lap down.
Reimert’s lead is erased, and he is gifted with clear air again. The field is restacked for a lap 12 restart. Reimert, Haring Jr., Manmiller, Lisowski, Buckwalter, Smith, Kressley, CVD, Strunk, Umbenhauer, Watt, and Gular. Right before the caution appeared Brett Kressley and CVD were side by side for 7th/8th, while Jeff Strunk, Jared Umbenhauer, Mike Gular, and Ryan Watt were pack racing for 9th to 12th.

Ray Kemp’s 2 to go signal is dropped to Louden Reimert and it is very noticeable that Doug Manmiller has cut the lead down to a few car lengths. Kressley held off Strunk’s challenge and remained 3rd, Strunk 4th, Ryan Watt cleared Haring Jr. for 5th, Haring Jr. 6th, Buckwalter 7th, and Mike Gular 8th.
The White Flag is dropped and Manmiller is at the bumper of the Reimert machine. The once big lead is gone and Manmiller appears faster and is looking for the right spot to steal this deal away. Manmiller looked for an opening in 1 and 2 and could not get it. The pair drops into turns 3 and 4, side by side as a lap car was blocking Reimert on the inside. Reimert would seal the deal just barely crossing the line for the win ahead of Doug Manmiller, A nearly photo finish.
