Following a rousing debut at Plattsburgh, N.Y.’s Airborne Park Speedway last Thursday, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco moves on to Vermont and New Jersey.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vt., hosts the STSS Modified River Valley Builders North Region in the ‘Slate Valley 50’ on Sunday, June 16. The Father’s Day special offers a $10,000 top prize for 50 laps of racing in the Green Mountain State.
Two days later, just miles from the Jersey Shore, New Egypt Speedway in New Egypt, N.J., serves as the setting for the ‘Dirty Jersey’ open-wheel doubleheader featuring the STSS Modified NJ Quality Drywall South Region (50 laps, $6,000 to win) and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman Belmont’s Garage South Region (25 laps, $1,500 to win) on Tuesday, June 18.
After two events on the STSS North Region, Stewart Friesen of Sprakers, N.Y., leads the standings with Mat Williamson of Saint Catharines, Ont., second, five points back. Completing the top-10 are Michael Maresca, Matt Sheppard, Alex Yankowski, Anthony Perrego, Mike Mahaney, Jack Lehner, Alex Payne and Marc Johnson.
The STSS South Region has four events completed. Williamson – by just seven points – tops Perrego, Sheppard, Ryan Krachun, Mike Gular, Mike Mahaney, Ryan Godown, Yankowski, Danny Bouc and Ryan Watt.
The combined Ollie’s Overall Championship is led by Williamson with a 53-point advantage over Sheppard.
In Belmont’s Garage STSS Crate 602 Sportsman South Region competition, Joe Toth of Upper Makefield, Pa., leads Ethan Bill, Michael White, Logan Watt, Adam White, Payton Talbot, Dylan Madsen, Ryan Simmons, Dakota Kohler and Jared Millman.
