Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – The 47th running of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week will take place throughout Central New York from October 3-7 with the DIRTcar 358-Modifieds attacking the Weedsport Speedway oval on Wednesday, October 3 for the St. Lawrence Radiology 100.

Weedsport Speedway’s Super DIRT Week Kick-Off Party, presented by Ferris Industries, will start pre-race as Cortland, NY based country music band, Small Town Shade, will perform before the action begins in the Weedsport Speedway Midway from 5-7 p.m.
The DIRTcar 358-Modified series will be joined by the DIRTcar Sportsman series on October 3 for a one-two punch of action as a precursor to the Super DIRT Week finale at Oswego Speedway on Sunday, October 7.
As of September 14, there have been six 358-Modified Regional touring events completed with ‘Super’ Matt Sheppard and Tim Fuller scoring two victories along with Carey Terrance and Tim Sears Jr. also visiting victory lane.
Despite not reaching victory lane, Steve Bernier leads the current Northern Regional standings while Sears is at the top of the Southern Regional standings.
Weedsport Speedway’s Super DIRT Week Kick-Off, presented by Ferris Industries, will be the second of four stops for the 358-Modified tour during Super DIRT Week with action also being contested at Utica-Rome Speedway, Brewerton Speedway, and Oswego Speedway.
Weedsport’s October 3 event will be the third race on the championship series schedule for the DIRTcar Sportsman following the September 28 event as a part of Fulton Speedway’s Outlaw 200 Weekend and the October 2 Super DIRT Week event at Utica-Rome Speedway.
Dave Marcuccilli won the most recent Sportsman series event at Weedsport on July 3 in the Sportsman Classic.
Joining Marcuccilli as Sportsman series winners this season are Shane Pecore, Kevin Root, Taylor Caprara, Martin Pellitier, Bob Henry Jr., Alan Fink and Brad Rouse.
Pit gates will open on October 3 at 4 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 5 p.m. and opening ceremonies set for 7:30 p.m.
General admission seating will be available for $25 with reserved seating priced at $29. Kids 11-17 will be admitted in general admission for $10 with kids 10 and under FREE. Non-member pit admission will be $35 with member pit prices set at $30.
Free fan pit pass upgrades are not available for this show.
