Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series only visit to New York State just got even more intriguing, as Kasey Kahne announced his part-time series schedule on Tuesday afternoon, which includes a stop at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, May 19.
Following his retirement from full-time NASCAR competition, Kahne is going back to where it all started with plans of more than 50 sprint car events on both the World of Outlaws and All-Star Circuit of Champions tours in 2019 behind the wheel of his Kasey Kahne Racing, Wicked Energy Gum No. 9.
One of those events will be the World of Outlaws return to Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, May 19 for the Empire State Challenge in conjunction with the Champion Oil Big Block Modifieds.
Last year at The Port, Brent Marks drove to his second career World of Outlaws victory over Sheldon Haudenschild, Jacob Allen and Kasey Kahne Racing’s Brad Sweet.
