“Glen Ridge Motorsports Park has been very interested in the RUSH Late Models,” expressed Glen Ridge Officials Jay Fitzgerald and Alicia Hughes. “We appreciate their technical rules package and respect what the RUSH Racing Series has built throughout the years. We’re always looking for affordable ways to get racers into cars to do what they love. This opportunity will give racers interested in a Late Model type car a chance to compete in a Nationally-recognized series.”

“Recently we have noticed a uptick of interest for Late Models in our region, but there are no tracks close to our area that runs this class,” added Fitzgerald and Hughes. “Once we started looking into all of our options we thought RUSH would be a great sanction for a Late Model-type division. It’s a class where people can save money while at the same time gain notoriety and be able to be part of their valuable championship programs. This will be a huge change in the racing world in upstate New York and we look forward to growing the division into the future.”

“This will be a completely new area to grow the RUSH brand and Late Model racing in general,” acknowledged RUSH Director Vicki Emig. “With Brock Pinkerous and Demetrios Drellos getting involved in RUSH Late Model racing this season it opened some eyes in the eastern New York area and we can’t thank them enough for getting the ball rolling. The event on August 13 will be a great opportunity to get the RUSH Late Models in front of a new audience.”

” I have continuously had people approach me over the past few years at the Northeast Racing Products Show in Syracuse, New York about bringing RUSH Late Model racing to eastern and upstate New York but the timing wasn’t right,” continued Emig. “Having Glen Ridge management make an early announcement that they will be adding us to their schedule in 2024 and committed to the division is great as it will give interested racers plenty of time to gear up for next season. I really believe this will open the door for more RUSH Late Model sanctioned speedways and events in eastern and upstate New York.”

RUSH member racers will be able to participate at Glen Ridge on a weekly basis in 2024 and be eligible for all of the programs including the City Chevrolet National Weekly Series Championship, City Chevrolet “Track Pack Bonus” program, and the “Futures Cup” for those eligible racers. While membership is not mandatory to compete in any RUSH-sanctioned event, membership also includes a $100,000 excess participant accident policy, which is over and above drivers’ health insurance and speedways’ participant accident policy.

The City Chevrolet “Track Pack Bonus” is offered to all RUSH weekly-sanctioned speedways, and once again in 2024 will award $2,500 that each track’s top six member racers will share. The 2024 RUSH member champion at Glen Ridge will earn $1,000 with $500 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth, $200 for fifth, and $100 for sixth.

Glen Ridge will join Freedom Motorsports Park, Genesee Speedway, Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park, Stateline Speedway, and Woodhull Raceway as RUSH Late Model Weekly-Sanctioned tracks in New York. Also, it was recently announced that Ransomville Speedway in western New York will host a RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series special on September 15 for the first time in two years, and McKean County Raceway near the Pennsylvania/New York border will reopen for eight events this season with racing on a more steady basis in 2024.
