Lance Willix & Billy Dunn Split DIRTcar 358-Modified Features At Glen Ridge Sunday Night

Story By: TOBY LAGRANGE / GLEN RIDGE MOTORSPORTS PARK – FULTONVILLE, NY – The Glen Ridge Motorsports Park was back in action Sunday night with the annual Kids Night program.

The DIRTcar 358 Modified division took center stage with a pair of feature events. In addition to the regularly scheduled event the held-over event from opening day (May 7th) was held.

Lance Willix picked up the win in the regularly scheduled 35-lap event. Will dominated the event which saw a great battle for positions second through fifth. In the end Willix would take the win over Jordan McCreadie, Billy Dunn, Bill August and Brian Calabrese.

In the nightcap, Dunn would pick up the win. Dunn took the win over Willix, rookie Garrett Poland, points leader McCreadie and Tucker O’Connor.

Defending and three-time track champion Andrew Buff won the Classic Muscle Parts DIRTcar Sportsman feature event. The win was his second in a row. Once out-front Buff pulled away from the field to earn the win over Cody Ochs, Ricky Quick, Zach Buff and rookie Tavien Blowers.

Luke Horning extended his points lead in the Yurkewecz Auto Crushers DIRTcar Pro Stock division with a return trip to victory lane. Johnny Rivers finished second with Slater Baker third, Ivan Joselin fourth and Steve Cosselman fifth.

Michael Arnold won the 20-lap Limited Sportsman feature event. Tyler Bobar crossed the finish line first however was disqualified due to not making weight. Arnold would be credited with the win over last weeks winner Kirsten Swartz, Craig Coons, Adam Fusco and Mat LaValley.

Demetrious Drellos was on hand with his RUSH Crate Late Model. Drellos turned some practice laps with lap times right around that of the DIRTcar Sportsman division. The RUSH Crate Late Models will have a weekly show on Sunday August 13th at The Ridge and will be a regular weekly division in 2024.

Other winners during the night were Jason Samrov (Street Stocks), Jay Ingersoll (DC) and Daniel Joubert (SC) (Leatherstocking Credit Union DIRTcar Mini Stocks), A.J. Albreada (Northeast Paving & Sealcoat All-Star Slingshots) and Bodie Marks (Northeast Paving & Sealcoat Junior Slingshots).

The Glen Ridge Motorsports Park is back in action this Sunday night, August 6th with all weekly divisions in action. It will be NYSSCA Night and the Street Stocks will compete in the VanAernam Street Stock Classic. The pit gates open at 3pm, front gates at 4pm with hot laps at 5:30 pm and racing at 6pm.
