RPW Exclusive: In More Ways Than One, It’s Almost Time For The “Largest” Northeast Pro Stock Race Ever

Column By: BRETT HORLACHER / RPW – MALTA, NY – The regular season will end with a bang for the Northeast Pro Stocks at the famed Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, NY on September 8th.
Pro Stock driver Jordan Modiano has been working for nearly a year to present what will be the largest Pro Stock race ever.
Along with Naming Sponsor “The Upstate Chevy Dealers” the $10,000 to Win “Dare to Be Different” Autism Awareness Race will feature the region’s best, battling it out for not only a cool 10-Grand, but an overall purse of $30,000 (AND THAT DOESN’T INCLUDE LAP MONEY).
On top of all of that, the goal is to raise at least $20,000 as a benefit for Autism Charities, Autism Society Great Hudson Region, NY and Bring On The Spectrum.
The 53-lap race will feature a starting field of 28 cars paying $325 to start with caution laps (maximum of 3 per occurrence) counting for the first 26 laps, with the remaining laps only counting under green flag conditions.
With the high-dollar stakes and a deserving benefactor, this one should shape up to bring the regular season to quite the end for the Pro Stock division.
During our interview, I asked Jordan why he does all of this. His honest and heartfelt answer deserves to be heard.
“My beautiful daughter Rachel has Autism,” Modiano said. “She’s awesome and my hero. I drive a race car, but she’s the driving force behind this. The goal is to generate awareness and educate people about Autism, as well as to financially benefit the Autism Society of the Greater Hudson Region and Bring on the Spectrum.”
Jordan isn’t doing all this alone.
“I’d like to thank all the presenting, supporting and donating sponsors for offering their money, time and materials to make this race happen,” he said. “Everyone is coming onboard and I can’t be more excited.”
Autism Fact: According to estimates from the CDC’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects about 1 in 36 children in the United States and is four times more likely in Boys than Girls.
If you like fender-to-fender racing, and enjoy supporting great causes grab that hoodie and head out to Albany-Saratoga Speedway on September 8th and watch the best in the business put on what may be the show of the year at “The Great Race Place” where there isn’t a single bad seat.
Anyone who would like to become a sponsor, or learn about the race itself is asked to contact Jordan Modiano at 14jordanm@gmail.com or follow Modiano Motorsports on Facebook.
